Cracked Tooth
It is not uncommon for children to break or chip their teeth while playing or participating in sports or other activities. Cracking a tooth can even happen by eating hard food like candy or ice.
If you can locate the piece of tooth, please bring it with you to your child’s appointment as it is sometimes possible to bond it back onto the tooth.
Standard protocol if a child has broken a tooth is to get an x-ray as soon as possible. With the results of the test the dentist can assess the severity of the fracture and discuss treatment options. Call our office and schedule an appointment but in the meantime, over the counter pain relief should help with pain management.
